Why me...

Ok... Noosa Enduro tomorrow ... the weather has cleared... I feel fully prepared for this one... right... WRONG!

According to my doctor it’s an as yet unidentified, nasty as all buggery, virus that has been attacking me all week, and it has now developed a secondary bacterial infection in my left lung... yes that’s right Pneumonia.  Why is it that this is becoming a common occurrence?  Every time I prepare for an endurance race, I get sick right before the event .

The final tests should be back in Monday.  Until then, I’m told it could be Swine Flu, Influenza, Hong Kong Flu or numerous other exotic concoctions.  All I know is that no other flu has ever hit me like this one has.  I asked my doc if it could be Swine Flu... he just laughed and said no, this baby is much nastier than that.  Pretty scary.

First Post (Take 2)

Well this is my first go at submitting a blog entry by email.  Only a few days till Noosa Enduro... and the rain has started, so it looks like another wet race for 2009.  It’s a shame because the Intermediate course (I did the advanced last year) this year has been changed and is quite a good course.  Now I fear, it will just be a muddy bog.  My biggest dilemma now is, do I risk mechanical issues by riding the Cannondale (geared)

Or the Niner One9 (Singlespeed).

The One9 would mean less hassles with mud and crud in the drivetrain, but there are some open fast dirt and bitumen road sections where the singlespeed would be at a distinct disadvantage.

Going shopping tomorrow for supplies to prepare for the race.
